Laptop won't power up with AC adapter and won't charge ACER AC14B18J 3ICP5/57/80 E3-111 battery
Many ACER laptop users have found that their ACER AC14B18J Battery cannot be charged. The battery indicator on their laptop says it’s not charging even when there’s an ACER AC adapter connecting to their device.
If your laptop works fine while plugged in but stops working after it is unplugged, your laptop battery is bad, or your laptop is not charging the battery.
If you do all of the above, you still can't charge
1. Please buy a new charger (1-3 after)
2. Please buy a new battery
If your laptop works fine while plugged in but stops working after it is unplugged, your laptop battery is bad, or your laptop is not charging the battery.
Here are some tips that can help you
1.Power down the ACER laptop. Unplug the power cord.
2.Remove the battery from the laptop. A ACER
battery is located on the bottom of the laptop. Slide the locking
mechanism to the right. Hold the mechanism in place with one hand while
lifting the battery upward with the other hand. Release the locking
mechanism once the battery is removed.
3.Plug the power cord into the right side of
the ACER laptop while the battery is removed. Press the "Power" button
to turn the laptop on. If the laptop turns on, the power cord is
properly working. If the laptop doesn't turn on, ensure the electrical
outlet is working by plugging in another device. If the electrical
outlet is working but the computer won't turn on, the power cord is dead
and needs to be replaced. If the power cord is not properly working, it
will not charge the battery. Turn off the laptop and remove the power
cord.
4.Examine the battery. Look for signs of
damage, such as corrosion, dents or dings. If you see damage on the
battery or battery contacts, replace the battery with a new one.
5.Clean
the laptop battery. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the
rubbing alcohol cap. Dip a cotton swab into the rubbing alcohol. Rub the
swab onto the battery contacts, located on the battery and in the
battery bay, to remove dust and grime. Dirt can prevent the battery from
properly charging, so the battery should be routinely cleaned.
6.Push the laptop battery back into the battery bay. The battery will snap into place.
7.Plug
the power cord into the side of the laptop. Allow the battery to charge
for 8 hours or overnight. Do not use the laptop during this time, as it
can slow down the charging process.
8.Remove the power cord. Press the "Power"
button. If the laptop will not turn on, the battery is dead and a
new ACER AC14B18J Battery Pack should be replaced.
If you do all of the above, you still can't charge
1. Please buy a new charger (1-3 after)
2. Please buy a new battery
